At the Shore

avalon-boardwalk-stepsSmall airplanes, awnings and a beach house

Lounging on the upper wood deck

Walking barefoot on the edge of the surf in the sun

Rain

A bridge lamp, a novel, and an Oriental rug

Sitting in a wing chair, reading a good book

Staring at the window, watching the raindrops run

Down

the ripply pane, the dunes, along the blurred sand,

plunging into the foamy white surfavalon-gull-surf

Watching the blue wedge the clouds south out to sea

Sun
